By Wils Gener

Have you forgotten your Windows 7 password? This appears to be a common problem that is as widespread as the coverage of Windows 7 itself. In order to find a solution for this problem, you can either pay money online for a Windows 7 password reset disk that is burned or use Windows 7 password recovery software.

Regardless of the method you decide on, your computer must be locked and booted from the disk. This could be a frustrating process if your computer skills are limited. The two methods below can be used as your reference if you ever come across a similar problem. Before anything else is done, you will be required to make a Windows 7 password reset disk and take notice of the way in which you should boot from the disk.

Using Windows 7 password reset software: In your locked computer, place a burnt Windows 7 password recovery software and boot from the DVD/CD as follows: Restart or turn on the locked computer, look at the screen for instructions that will direct you to press a key; ensure that the key is pressed as soon as you get the directive. This will take you to the BIOS menu. Please note: The key that is pushed to take you to BIOS is different depending on the manufacturers of the computer; however, Delete or F2 are the most commonly used keys. Use the arrow keys to select Boot from the taskbar, choose Boot Device Priority and push the Enter key. To exit BIOS, push the F10 key, this will perform a save as well. The computer will automatically restart to reveal the new BIOS settings

Using the password reset disk: If anything else fails, enter the Boot Menu and from the locked computer, boot from the DVD/CD like this: Place Windows 7 password reset disk in the locked computer. Power on the locked computer and right away start and repeatedly tap the ESC, F8 or other designated key until you see the screen with the Boot Menu. Click on CD ROM to select the first boot device and then push the Enter button. Next, the computer will automatically restart and the bios settings will be changed.

Not only can PC users reset bios password for their computers, but they can also set a password to log on to Windows. The BIOS password will have to be cleared or removed if BIOS have been password protected and this must be done prior to gaining access to BIOS to carry out the boot order change.
