One Of The Few Superior Products - Micro Trend Antivirus Software Critique

By Andrew Martin

This year, I checked a website that rates the top 10 Internet Security software programs and Norton came in second. Therefore I went ahead and purchased the one for the year. Lastly, I ran a test twice using the full system scan. The first scan took 2 hours and 23 minutes (471,753 total items scanned) with 9 risks detected and resolved! This is an indicator to me of speed impediment on 360's part. As always NIS remains user friendly and IMO the best and most convenient way to secure all 3 of my computers. There are many Internet Security programs out there. The software installed on my computer in under 12 minutes and was up and running at that time. It can be used on three computers, a "BOON" for folks that have multiple family members using their own computers. This offers moderate protection for internet users. The price is better than that of big box stores and Norton's website.

We use it three computers of our own and two of our handicapped son. All installations seem to work flawlessly.

Norton quality combined with Amazon great price and service can't be beat. I've stuck with Norton through all its ups and downs for over 15 years now.

Norton's Internet Security has overlapping technologies working for you. Keeping e-mail and chat virus free or from picking up a virus from these services, as Norton prescreens to keep your computer safer. This is a program that works in tandem with Symantec's computer to analyze what this program scanned on your computer and they will let you know if files or programs are infected. I ran this file and I'm virus free as far as I can tell, but it is nice to have a software company dedicate a computer to analyze suspicious or virus laden programs.

The only thing is that once you have installed the program your subscription for all three PC's start on that same day. However, I am a very pleased customer! After trying to figure out how to install on a PC without a CD drive, it was easy to install. My version that I purchased came with a CD. I will always buy Norton for my computer. Since we needed to renew our Norton Internet Security for another year, we found it to be much less expensive to purchase and install this product than to renew with Norton online. To update via Norton runs 20 dollars or so more and is done by download. Buying this CD from Amazon gives you the CD in hand, always a nice thing to have.

Overall, it is still a great piece of software for protection against internet threats, but password management and parental security may not be Norton's forte. Well, after a few month of beta testing I guess it's time to give everybody my opinion.
