Here again, good judgment is needed, Norton's Internet Security help with making sound judgments. This goes along with Norton's anti-phishing, parental control management, proactive performance alerts, Norton's insight, system wide and downloading, and identity safe.
I have heard others complaining about the price but I would have to say that you really get what you pay for and Norton includes free support with your subscription so if you do have any problems you can get an answer. I had problems with Norton 360 didn't want to stay in my computer tried deleting and re-installing. I had Norton when I had Comcast and it really worked well so after going to another company, I wanted Norton. I left a feedback on this when I received it. I've been using Norton internet security since the 2009 version. That was the year they revamped the software to use minimal resources.
I order it online, the shipping is free, and I get a real box and disk to physically load into my PC's. What's to not like?
Intercepts your email connections (spam, virus and malware) I have used Norton for Internet security for four years. It seems to work OK and would have gotten 4 stars had Norton not consistently sought to fleece me for $20 more for simply renewing with them based on their notification to me via my PC. The number was wrong and I could not install the Norton Internet Security. I am very unhappy with the seller, MicroIdea Inc. What a shame, as I wanted to really like this way overhyped software from the beginning. Norton needs to go back to the drawing board.
So right now my computer is just a sad black box. I believe this is not a serious software flaw - Norton nor any other software has no business hijacking your computer and taking control away from your ability to stop installation of any program whatsoever.
One thing that is not so well advertised is that once you have one of these modern versions of Norton Internet Security, you can upgrade for free. So if you already have NIS 2010 - just upgrade.
There is a link to the FBI to report criminal behavior due to viral infections. I love this security software, it's so easy to use and it doesn't slow down my laptop like other security software. This is a great product work fine. I had Norton Internet Security for several years and have always been happy with it.
Good bargain for your money. Cost a lot less than buying directly from Symantec. I barely noticed IS 2009 was running and fortunately both IS 2010 and IS are just as bullet proof and unobtrusive. It installed on each of my Win 7 64bit desktops without any issues whatsoever. Norton uses a website-based parental control option now. Despite being called a different name and being able to set profiles for family members, it is not reliable and not well thought-out.
