I guess this means that after I do the updates I have to go to each of my bank sites and double check. I switch to Quicken Home and Business to replace Microsoft Money Small Business as it will no longer be supported. This program cannot download bank transactions consistently. If you get one account working then all the other accounts will stop downloading transactions.
This got a little wonky on me and actually broke my ability to download transactions manually, in addition to not adding the accounts correctly to begin with. I started getting the infamous OL 221 - an error message. Having paid good money for this software, I'm steamed that they now subject me to ads as well. I don't mind the free-if-you-view-our-ads software business model in general, but do find it offensive if the software cost plenty of money. While impressed with the updates I've seen on 2011, Intuit has created an environment where bug fixes are miraculous and rare.
And that's after having it for a few months. The interface doesn't follow standard Windows conventions, but I can work around that. I cannot connect to my bank accounts. The other day when I tried to use the software, I have very simple question and it takes forever for their customer support to respond.
I hold off on upgrades at least 2 to 3 years because the changes either are not significant enough or little improvement in its usability. Quicken Home & Business is fantastic! Of course a spreadsheet could do most of that stuff too. I was hopeful that this version of Quicken would manage my data from Interactive Brokers since it is listed as "supported". Regarding the business module, Quicken was not so good at importing my invoice history. For some reason, my paid invoices came in with a zero amount and the customer payments were missing their categorizations.
I like the software I have on my computer and hope that someday something changes at my bank so they will upgrade and I can automatically download my transactions. Then, I will have the full functionality of this accounting software. Thank you Quicken and Amazon! I'm a salary man and occasional freelancer, renting an apartment with a long-term partner.
They didn't hide any menus/buttons, etc. While the software is good minus the online component, I can't in good conscience give it a good or mediocre rating for the following reasons: 1.
I owned Q2008, Q2005 & Q2002 and I used them daily. During that decade, I observed no significant product improvements, just a huge increase in software bugs.
You feel like you've been left high and dry after the purchase. Also, they don't have a fair upgrade policy anymore.
