A Hosted PBX System Can Save Your Company Money

By Gerardo F. Schuster

A phone that is beneficial to all businesses is the hosted PBX (private branch exchange) system. With a PBX, any office or business setting that has multiple offices and phone lines will save money when it comes to their phone expenses. Your company will at first see the cost savings from the reduction in the expenses associated with internal calls between employees. But this savings is not the only benefit that is associated with this type of phone system.

There is one major difference between a traditional PBX system and a hosted PBX system. The largest difference in these two systems involves the equipment. The equipment needed for the system to work must be purchased by the company if the classic system is used. Alternatively, with a hosted system, all of the equipment stays at the telephone company providing the service. This means that the company does not have to spend money on high priced equipment or upkeep. The company simply has to subscribe to the service to get started.

You can ensure that your phone systems are continually running on the best software when you choose hosted PBX services because they run via VoIP (voice over Internet protocol). When you select a host for your PBX services, make sure you choose a company that has the ability to control your calls through a direct connection and does not just send them over the Internet without control over them.

If you are afraid you will lose the features you love by switching to a hosted system, you do not need to worry. Traditional features include things such as voicemail, call holding, call hold music, call recording and caller id. Plus, there are many other benefits such as the ability to transfer a call externally and convert voicemails to email messages. Because of the character of the service, it also means that calls can be made and received virtually anywhere that there is an Internet connection. This can improve the productivity because your employees will not be pinned down to just a single location to make and receive phone calls.

A PBX system will both decrease your expenses and increase the productivity within your company. The best feature about the system is that it eliminates the need for you to purchase and maintain equipment because the phone system provider is responsible for this. Costs associated with your business' phone service will greatly decrease when you switch to a hosted phone system.
