Those which were registered prior to the said year can only be obtained from the county where the person died. Only the immediate family members of the deceased can request for the death certificate.

The death of a person is usually announced in the local newspapers of Florida. It is also available at the Department of Health under the Vital Records Section. The request can be done by calling the office or by sending them a request letter which includes the information of the person you are looking for. One can also obtain a copy of the record from the county where the person breathed his last. Third party providers are now offering their services to search for the record for a certain fee.
