Reasons To Recycle That Old Mobile Phone Of Yours

By Bob Hop

Mobile phones are an important part of our daily lives and everyone has and needs one. In fact, safe for those who live in impoverished countries wherein mobile phones are not part of their so-called "daily" necessities and that they can merely afford buying something to eat, mobile phones are practically something that we, people of the modern day, just cannot live without. That is a fact and that is something that only an infant would day.

Yet, despite its many benefits to mankind and the fact that it is so indispensible, it also is one of the most toxic things that we use on a daily basis. Granted, it doesn't harm us in anyway, especially in terms of toxicity, well, not directly that is. But, when not disposed of properly, do keep in mind that these mobile phones are not biodegradable and that they tend to last in the environment for years and decades. Not only do they not degrade, but, the materials are also toxic, containing poisonous elements such lead, cadmium and beryllium.

This is the reason why most governments and mobile phone manufacturers and companies often promote the recycling of old and unused mobile phones. However, if you still fail to see the good in such a deed and still want to be further convinced on why you should recycled that old mobile phone of yours that has not been in use for months and even years, then, feel free to read the following reasons stated below.

Money is probably the main reason why you should do so. Do keep in mind that when you sell your old mobile phone or turn it over to mobile phone retailers and stores, you get paid, or get discounts on your next mobile phone purchase. Plus, fact is, it doesn't matter if your phone still works or not.

Every little thing counts if you want to save the planet, and a single deed such as this helps reduce the amount of rubbish going into landfills in your area. As has been said, mobile phones can be quite poisonous to the environment. Often times, your mobile phone may still be functional most of the time, they are given or donated by mobile phone companies to people who really need them, yet just can't afford to buy one, such as in the case of impoverished countries.

Much like how the recycling of a junk car helps save the energy used to produce a new one, the recycling of mobile phones also helps save up the energy used in making new ones. Remember, every little thing counts if you want to save the environment and make our planet a better place to live in for years and years to come.
