By Sebastian Cork

Kindle Fire is one of those many tablet devices today that operates using Google's Android operating system. It may be distinct from other Android-based devices in so many ways, but it is still a device that can be improved and developed through rooting or jailbreak. The reason why some geeks and hackers choose to jailbreak Kindle Fire is to enable the same to be customized more than what is allowed by the engineers who designed them. Yes, there are downsides when it comes to hacking and the risks are always there. Nonetheless, if you're someone who really wants to make the most out of your tablet or e-reader, you should seriously consider rooting.

This article will be providing a thorough and comprehensive guide on how to jailbreak Kindle Fire and eventually get more out of the same device. However, keep in mind that we will be focusing on the firmware version 6.2.2, and this guide may not be compatible with other versions. Also have in mind that you must be able to comprehend and master every single step in this process before you can actually say you've rooted your device successfully.

Be sure you are able to obtain the following things: Kindle Fire tablet device running version 6.2.2 firmware, a micro USB cable for connecting to the PC, Kindle Fire Utility software, and a personal computer. It is recommended that you use a Windows-based operating system. Now the first thing to do is of course connect the Kindle Fire device to the computer. After which, you can then install the Kindle Fire Utility software.

You should be reminded that it is not possible to be able to successfully jailbreak Kindle Fire if you don't have all the essential drivers installed. Therefore, make sure that the instructions given in the Utility are followed step by step and the relevant drivers are all installed. After securing the installation, you can now double-click the run.bat file found in the folder in the Utility software. After clicking, just wait for a few seconds and soon after a notification message appears telling you the root are already enabled. Exit and then the device will automatically restart.

After the reboot, you must connect the device to a personal computer all over again and hit any key to proceed. There will be a "credits" message that will appear in the home screen and you just have to ignore it. After that, the Kindle Fire Utility is shown again and there will be several options at your disposal. In this case, you must choose number 6. Next choose 2 and click "enter". After doing so, the files will subsequently be automatically downloaded. The download duration roughly depends on the speed of your internet connection.

Lastly, there will be another prompt telling you that the root is finally enabled. Be mindful that you're not going to do anything at this point since you must wait until the final process is done. The entire rooting process may actually take a while but it is important for you not to disrupt or disconnect anything until a popup message appears, notifying you that the installation is finished. And when it's finished, the Kindle Fire restarts, and you can unplug it. So that's basically the entire jailbreak process. You're done!
