Verizon Cellular Phones Broadband Options

By Rhonda Benjamin

The new year is already off to an exciting start, as Verizon and Apple have finally partnered up to bring us the sexy iPhone! There is no doubt that the iPhone is going to be a great success for Verizon cellular phones. Plenty of people will want it and buy it as soon as it becomes available in early February. But even with the iPhone coming to Verizon soon, there are a few other cell phones that deserve your careful attention. Whether you're a new Verizon customer, or if you're an existing customer looking to upgrade your phone, research these top rated Verizon phones to help make sure you find the perfect phone.

Verizon's top selling phones include the HTC Incredible. It is easily the best-selling Verizon phone, with high positive customer reviews to back it up. This phone runs on the Google Android operating system, which actually many customers prefer over Apple's iPhone system. Android also has its own "App Store" marketplace similar to Apple. This phone is super fast, both in data network usage and simply running applications and functions on the phone. It has all the expected features of a smartphone too, like an 8-MP camera, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. The screen is beautiful and big, while the phone remains thin and convenient to carry around.

The next option is to just buy a basic phone without all the bells and whistles. If you just need a cheap Verizon mobile then this is your option. Get a mobile for what it was designed to do, make phone calls. Verizon offers great cheap phones from Nokia, Samsung and LG. They are all great phones and some allow you to browse the web, take pictures with build in camera, calendar and place to keep all of your contacts.

Three popular choices are: Motorola Droid X, Samsung Fascinate, and Palm Pre Plus. The other mobile hotspot capable phones vary in what Verizon charges for the hotspot feature. Most mobile broadband plans have a monthly data limit of 5 gigabytes or less and have heavy overage charges. If you do a lot of heavy downloading, you should monitor your Internet usage closely.

Even if your smartphone doesn't have mobile hotspot capabilities, it can still be tethered via a USB cable to your laptop or netbook to provide 3G Internet access. If you're in the market for a new smartphone or have had your existing phone plan for a couple of years or more, you may be able to get one of the newest 3G Internet provider smart phones for next to nothing. Verizon and most other cellular Internet providers offer huge discounts and rebates when you sign a new contract.
